Im 23 and have never been pulled over or received a ticket.

I have had the P-car up to 140+. It was very safe (and legal)

Im nervous about moving back to the states. driving 65 here doesnt even feel like im moving.

I'm 20, I have put 35k on my 944, and I have zero tickets. I have been pulled over twice, but never in a speed trap or for anything quantitative. I drive real careful now because I can't afford to get a ticket before I turn 21. My insurance would be too high to drive my car. And I don't want to get a ticket once I turn 21, since my insurance will finally be reasonable.

I'm 22 and have only received one ticket for speeding but it wasn't on the 944, it was on an '85 318. ~85mph in a 55 zone. The total amount to pay was around... $15. It was about 5yrs ago and until a year or so ago, that was the speeding fine no matter how fast you were going. Law's different now, similar if not the same as in the states.

When I first moved out here with my Sapphire Blue 944, I was pulled over for expired out of state tags. Well, he was right, and he was on a bike, and had to look DOWN the plate holder to see that number!

Anyway, they almost threw me into jail for stealing my own Porsche! He gave me a fix-it ticket, and warned me to take off real fast, so I could merge right back into traffic!

So, I peeled out, lol! Got the Cali plates (cost me a friggin' $1000!).

I'm 23, 3 speeding tickets. 2 for 5mph over, one for 15mph over. When you're going off base here, when you turn right, the speed limit is 55. I learned the hard way that it's 45 when you turn left.

80 in a 65mph. That defines almost all of my tickets. I have between 5 and 7, lost count, just know that they start dropping away next year. All of them acquired in a BMW, all but one acquired in my 1990 325is.

Purchased the car after driving an Isuzu Trooper for 4 years. On the ride home from the purchase, I hooked in behind a guy who was really moving, and trailed him by an 1/8 mile. I looked down a minute or two later to realize that I was doing 118 mph indicated. Got busted doing 80 in a 65 on the same trip. Car was trouble. ;-)

I've gotten a bit smarter as I've gotten older (read: "I bought a Valentine 1"), and have avoided the "road tax" for the past 2 years.

17, gotten 0 tickets. I've been extremely lucky so far I suppose. On the other hand, I do tend to stay withing 5-10 of the speed limit, so even if I do speed it's not excessive.

Ticket #1 was dumb. I was 17 and driving my uncle's truck. The speed limit was 60, and I had the needle dead on 60. I got pulled over for doing 70. I refuted (dumb) and the cop still gave me the fine. FIVE MILES later, same circumstances, same outcome.... Lesson learned: Oversized tires mess up the speedometer reading. Paid the tickets.

Ticket #2 was a dangerous one. I was driving at 2am on a major interstate highway and fell asleep for 2 seconds. When I awoke, i was passing a cop. 84 in a 70. Traffic school.

Ticket #3 was a bum deal. Backing out of a parking lot onto a ill-lit street at 10pm I saw no lights and deemed it safe to enter the street. BAM! No lights, no tire squeeling, no signs of a car being present in the street until it hit me. Fined me. Traffic school.

Ticket #4 was the only one in the 944. I was tired and just wanted to get home, but not in a hurry. Sitting at a red light, a mod camaro that at the very least "looked" fast pulled up beside, revving his ponies. I was in no mood and waved him off, but that didn't stop him from racing away. 0.9 miles ahead I got pulled over for 80 in a 55. 80! My 944 wasn't in the best condition at that moment, but even still. 80! I Tried to fight it, but the form got in one day late, so I had to pay it. Still pisses me off that the camaro that was a mile ahead of me when I got pulled over got away. When I asked the cop about it, "I never saw no camaro." Nice syntax buddy.

I got one speeding ticket in california 45 in a 35 in my Saab. Traffic school no points.
And I got one for going 30KM/h over here in germany. No big deal though.
I've always been very lucky though. I know for a fact the 914 goes 120MPh and noone caught me. And I didn't do this just once

Actually, in my roughly 18 years of driving, I have gotten a total of 4 speed related tickets, so I am not without blemish. Three of these tickets occurred while I was away in college. The worst one was a 70 in a 50 zone. (Those crazy college kids!)

I tell people that the best thing to do to avoid speeding tickets is to get a bright red sports car! I know my Guards Red 944 is a target, so I know to take it easy! I probably drive faster in my Subaru than my Porsche on the street.

I have never gotten a ticket while driving my Porsche. (Or my Subaru! )

Ok, here it comes: When you can hit 130mph consistently on the back straight at Watkins Glen or Pocono, (or any other track) doing 80-90 on public streets is kinda dull: no big deal.

If you haven't tried a track event like a PCA Driver's Ed program: do yourself a favor: save your $$ and try one. You will be hooked.

Nothing Stands out more in Mass. Than an Arrest-me-red sports car, when the police are running a speed trap

I was doing 71 in a 70. Cop said I was doing 84. I chewed HIM out (I was about to graduate law school and had been a probation officer for 6 years in the area where the cop pulled me - I WANTED to take this a$$hole to court!), he gave me back my license and let me go. I am sure he clocked someone doing 84 and assumed it was the red "Porsh". Guards Red does, indeed, stick out.

I haven't had a ticket in the last 15-20 years , although there are probably a couple of times where I should have. I agree with some of the above posts that having a red "here I am, ticket me" vehicle does make me drive a little more sanely when I am out in my 944. Plus, just the sheer joy of driving it makes me less hurried to get anywhere - I drive a lot faster in my Ranger (just not as fast around corners ). Also, having a Maltese Cross IAFF decal in the rear window does get you a lot of breaks from cops. If you have a firefighter friend who can get you one, it is definitely worth the investment!

I have gotten used to driving red, conspicuous vehicles over the years. Case in point:

Actually, the last time I was pulled over I was driving a fire engine! It was just over a year ago, and we had brought a rig back from Colorado Springs to Northern California. We had picked it up from an Air Force fire department, so it did not have any license plates (was never used off base). It was over the Memorial Day weekend, so there was no possibility of getting any temporary plates or registration. After absolutely no problems with any cops in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah or Nevada in the first 1399 miles of the drive, I am within a mile of our ultimate destination when a California State University cop pulls me over! This idiot had apparently lit me up about a mile back, but was so close to my butt that I could not see him in my mirrors. Finally he hits his siren and backs off my a$$, and I pull over when I can finally see him. He was apparently bored, so he pulled me over for no plates. Also, when I initially didn't stop (like I was going to try and outrun him in a fire engine???), he had called in for back-up. As the first cop is checking my license, his back-up shows up and says "I heard you call in a red truck, but a fire engine?"

Well, they run my license and the truck's VIN, and don't come up with anything so they let me go. But not before the second cop says to me "Hey, we run a charity around Christmas. Is there any way that you could bring an engine out and support our efforts?"

I politely declined.

No tickets recently, but I am sure that I'm due.

I think I am on par with Robert as far as tickets go. Mostly for speeding. I have only had one since I have owned the Porsche, and that one was BS. But it is not the tickets I recieved that make a good story, it is the one's that they have let me go!
