Wink 944 bumpers?

what year did 944's switch from the protruding bumper:



to the smooth bumper?

upper car is an NA model and the lower car is a turbo model.

Lucky you don't own a 944 or I was gonna say....

edit:
though not all NA's had that bumper though. The '90 and later S2 models (correct me if I am wrong) also used the turbo style nose.

The upper picture shows the front end that was used on all 8 valve NA cars ('83-'89), and on the '87-'88 16v 944S. The other shot is of the front end used on all turbos ('86-'89) and on the '89-'91 944S2.

The car in the second picture also has a non stock vent in the center above the bumper.
