Default End of an Era.. Goodbye S2... (Update :S2 Saved..)

After 5 years of daily driving, I have to say good bye to my mistress.

Late Saturday night a few week ago, some moron in a huge Nissan Navara side swiped me and send us spinning across 2 lanes. Luckly no other cars around and both my wife an I are ok. I did crack a rip where my arm banged my rib cage from the side impact. but my heart is injured the most.

I can can say goodbye without any regrets as everyday was a fantastic day when driving this machine.

It will be written off and probalby revived by some eager panelbeater... I trully hope so...

I will be sad to say goodbye to the engine... I had just had it rebuilt 8000kms ago.

Anyway... its not the end.... I see a light at the end of the tunnel... I think its the headlights of a 968.

Looks like some very usable parts there, it is feasible to part it since you are in S.Africa?

The rear quarter is window is pretty stressed.. it'll probaly shatter if removed. you can see the bend in the reflection.

The rear will also not open as the hatch pins on the impact side are stuck due the body bending.

Given time and effort... maybe... but other than the engine and interior, I can't see much that will go easily.. we have a very small S2 market here... and it just got smaller.

This car will be bought by a registed scrapper for 25% of the settlement amount and probalby be on the road again.. it just won't be mine.

So sorry to see this!

Get the eager panel beater to do the work for you and keep the car. That's what I would do.

for a minute i thought that your wife was in danger when the accident happened, then i remembered your steering wheel is on the wrong side.
