Yes, I long ago tried to track down the "dashglove." The one place that sold the product had stopped selling it due to quality concerns.

I am trying to create my own version of this product, a leather covering for the 944 dash. What I am going to try and do is to have a seamstress craft a leather cover FOR MY COVERLAY...or at least using the coverlay as the pattern for the leather. And then I'll figure out the best way to mount the leather on the dash.

My 986S has a leather wrapped dash and the look is sweet. If someone would craft a 944 leather solution, it would be widely appreciated...

Hmm...they don't make one for my '87 951 with a passenger airbag. There was a dash cover on it when I bought the car, however, I had to remove it because it was installed so poorly. In doing so, I managed to just destroy it. Who makes a dash cover for an airbag equipped 944?

I know I've seen before and after pictures of the coverlay install.

If you do a search you should find some.

I am a little surprised no one has mentioned "JustDashes", a company in California that restores dashes to better than new. Kinda pricey (around $600 for a 944 dash), but they do it properly and it should last, as they use a heavier vinyl. Jim Pasha did a write up on replacing a 924 dash a few years back in Excellence.

Regards, ...Scott
