"OK, if ya want to turn heads, just get a MACH 5.."

Which just reminded me of the car I always wanted to build. A 72 Rustang Mach 1 with an Allison v-12 mounted amidship.

Maybe when I win the lottery.

"the daytona is laughably ugly, who give 2 flying fu*cks about the hemi in it"

Excuse me Que? Ever driven one? Believe me I love my Porsche, but there is more than all around handling and quality. I took off on a VERY sharp incline in 3rd with the parking brake on (Ooops driving it home from purchase) with a VERY heavy 68 Charger (383 4 barrell). It drove off like it was absolutely nothing. Ever leave a patch in 4th. I know that's not the typical Porsche thing. But there is something to be said for a gob load of power at the slightest touch of the throttle. I would drop the porsche in a heartbeat for a Daytona Charger. You might not like the looks but some of us do, and with the hemi under the hood I could sustain unreal speeads forever.

The 944 is blowing me away for reliablity, but that takes a load of engineering. a bone stock pushrod 360 will give you that power, an awesome intake sound (With the thermoquad, makes webers sound like new years eve party favors) and reliability that is unheard of.

And in straightaways and roundy rounds I bet that hemi in a 4k pound Daytona would even walk away from the Toolmasters 951.

BTW the Charger was my step brothers purchase. HE was afraid to drive it home. Something he would have not been in a 951. And also you don't have to change the headgaskets every 30k miles like a 951.

I've said it before, but my choice would be an all-black 968 Turbo RS with 3-piece cups. And a good lawyer.

Cool

A 917K would be my ultimate ride.

I love those things.

The 1973 AMC Gremlin has always been a dream. Hopefully one day I'll find a mint low mileage example. NOT!!!

Very nice video of the F1

McLaren F1 top pick

Ford RS 200 Evolution Gruppe B Rally Car
Yes it it butt ugly, 4 wheel drive 750bph, 0-60 2.3 seconds. There was a bright yellow one for sale in California from the early nineties in Autoweek. 265K

Audi Coupe Quattro Sport Evolution 550bhp. Same guy with the Ford was selling this at a steal for 90K.

I remember a story of a Car journalist being taken for a ride in a Rally spec RS 200 by a factory driver, in his article he said 'Going through a heavily wooded area with trees no more than a foot from us at 170mph, I felt the urge to pee myself, so I did '

I'd actually take one of these over any Porsche..

Maybe I could have an Dauer 962 but I think the Koenigsegg is cooler, and it is made in Sweden an hours drive from me..

I wouldn't mind one of those old AutoUnion racecars from the 30's... you know, the ones that look like the little Monopoly-token...

Guess they were kind of tailhappy though...
