Default Stereo Guro's!!!

The car came with aftermarked front and rear speakers, a Rock. Fos. RFX9210 CD player and an amp thanks to the prev. owner. I am shopping for an IPOD adapter for the RF head unit and am having a hard time finding one.

The BestBuy guy told me I prob had a 3mm(?) plug in the back, which is basicly a headphone jack. I removed the unit today to check and all I have is what is shown in the picture as a blank circular plug with no wires coming out of it. I know the unit has an AUX input, CD, and Tuner inputs obviously. But I can't find the plug that goes to the head unit for the AUX connection. Crutchfield and EBAY were no help, so I am turning to you for help! Thanks!

Thanks Darwin. That is not entirely correct as the Pioneer in my F150 has a square plug that I was able to buy a cable for to mount my IPOD and charge it as well. I happen to know my stereo stuff pretty well as far as installs go, not so much on component specs and best for what application, but with all due respect, I'm not retarded.

From further research, it appears that the plug can be used with the RFX8810 6 disc changer that was only avail for this particular head unit. I was hoping that someone knew of something else that would work in this plug hole instead.

All of my outputs are taken up with the aftermarket speakers, how would one of those be wired in? Have you used one?

I only skim read, but I see no mention of an aux input. The only input it shows is for the changer, which would be the molex plug on the back of the radio.

I don't know how the RF unit works, but the Pioneer is a different animal, as the P-Bus input was designed from the beginning for optional inputs, which is why the Aux on a Pioneer is still selectable without anything plugged into that port.

If the RF aux is also selectable with nothing plugged in, it's possible that you could figure out the audio inputs, and hard wire in an input jack. But if you can't see the Aux setting, then there's not much you can do without knowing the wiring schematics of the deck, and figuring out if there is a way to 'turn on' that setting. Once on, it would work like the Pioneer, and likely have 3 audio wires, L+, R+ and LR- combined likely.

Yes. I just finishing using one in my Mercedes. This week as a matter of fact. Let me think about the best way, but at first glance, you could certainly splice into your speaker wires at the harness.

That Pac-OEM2 is nothing more than a line level adapter. It won't help in hooking up an MP3 player to a vehicle. It's basically designed to enable you to hook up an aftermarket deck to a vehicle with factory amplifiers, or adding amplifiers to an existing factory radio. Nothing about it enable what the thread starter needs to do.

If my above suggestion is not possible, about the only other thing you could do would be to use an FM adapter.

I had a similar problem when I switched my alpine to a blaaupunkt < not sure if thats how you even spell it. To the point though, with the blaaupunkt the Ipod chord won't charge the ipod while in use or in the car. The alpine one did, make sure you look for this. As it is a big PITA to remember to grab your ipod everytime you get home from work to charge it.
