Brake Rotor Removal. Please help!
Attempting brake job on '90 S2. I have done several brake jobs before and everything was going fine until I attempted to remove the rotors. The countersunk screws that hold the rotor in place are seized. I have tapped them, soaked penetrating oil on them also. I was using a rachet witht appropriate size philips head screw driver socket so I could get better torque and avoid stripping the head. They won't budge. Has anyone ran into this problem before or have advice or a tip that might work. I have never had anything seize this bad before and worse of all its a philips head screw. Any help appreciated.

Use an impact driver to get them off. Available for $15-25 at your local autostore or Sears. I Have never come across one of those set screws a impact driver couldnt get out..and ive had to deal with some horrible stripped ones before! This is what they look like..

You dont even need to replace them..but if you do, use liberal amounts of anti-seize.

Screw Outs from Sears worked great for me.

They go on sale about every other week for $9.99.

I had the same thing happen with the rear rotors on my Acura. I used the impact hammer, blow torch, pb blaster, everything. F$%ckers would not budge. The drill worked great. Put the new rotors on w/o the screws and they work fine. I believe they use the screws to keep the rotors from falling off on the assembly line.
