We lost 2 more stock fuel rails this past weekend at the 944 Cup race at VIR.Cracks around the bracket welds. Luckily no fires. We have not been so lucky in prior years. Most have continued to reuse recycled rails off of old parts cars.
Finally we are going to allow aftermarket fuel rails in the series for the obvious safety reasons and expense.
A new factory rail is $900. We have held off doing this up til now because the aftemarket rail required the use of a not legal adjustable fuel regulator, but Lindsey has made an adapter that will allow use of the stock regulator.
We are working with Lindsey racing in an attempt to secure a discounted price for Cup racers if possible, so you may want to wait if u plan to go that way. So we should be able to get a safer fuel rail for about 35% of the cost of a new factory rail.
If interested, contact me at cup944@aol.com.

We believe the fuel rail problem is caused by vibration which fatigues the weak points of the rail. The problem can occurr in a track car or street car. When depends on the use of the car, equipment on the car, and driving habits. Track cars will display the problems first because of the added vibration due to stiffer suspensions. If a street car and or part time DE car has been stiffen up, then more likely to occur. Solid or worn out motor mounts can contribute to the problem. Improperly adjusted balance shaft belts haved a huge impact on rail failures. Etc, etc, etc.

I never drive my car over 70mph, car is completely stock... and I've mine leak all over the head.
These things just kind of suck. But like said above it happens hella faster in track cars.

If this is the right part number?
