Default Leak at sunroof drain INLETS

My drain lines are clear, but water collects and drips right where the rubber drain attaches to the metal inlet. I have done experiments where I took the sunroof and interior panels out and poured water in. Water drains out fine but some still collects here. The drain line is cracked a bit; could I possibly cut the end and re-attach, or is there a way to replace the line? Lowe's sells clear silicone line in about this size.

Has anyone else had lines that drain fine all the way to the outlets but still leak a bit around the inlets?

And I have spent the last hour searching/reading. This thread:

post #7 has been the best resource I've found. I considered what he said about the sunroof blocking the drain, but it still leaks even with the roof totally off. I think someone should sticky that post, for what it's worth.
