How do you heel-toe in a 944?

But example no.2 is so wrong !!!!!!! It is inconceivable for me that you can modulate brakes and gas correctly with heel on the brakes and toes on the gas !!! You should try to get used to a better technique like I explained on top or you are gonna be in troule some day doing this...

#2 is SO much easier in a 944. the pedals are so close and since the throttle is connected at the floor its really hard to manipulate the throttle smoothly for me.
all my downshifts are perfect with #2

I use "version 1" or whatever you have there. It is very tight for people like you and I that have 12-13 size feet. I have quite a bit of seat time in mine and I got it down compared to the 911 in half a session the first time out. It is a little bit difficult to shuffle to left foot brake, but I don't really left foot brake and my laptimes are more than competitive.

I do toe-toe in every car I drive. I have kinda wide feet, so I can pull it off. When My foot is on the brakes in nearly any car I've driven, I can always tap/blip the throttle at will. I'm not physically comfortable with the "heel-toe" technique, because I don't like "kicking" the gas with the bottom of my foot.
I thought I was different too, until I read this thread. My gf does it the way I do too.

It may work because you're used to doing it this way, but only on the street....On a road course in the middle of a furious pack of Formula Ford's, coming to a major brake zone and having to do 3 downshifts in 1 second, that would be another story !

wait, your sig says you have an automatic!! get outta here!
jk, yeah, i'm referring to street driving mostly here, and moderate track driving. to be honest, this is about the only way for me to shift because my feet are so damn wide. i tried left foot braking a bit last night just to get used to the sensation. wow it's weird putting your foot there....

I do this more like the first picture. I wear size 12 and without turning my foot inward there just isn't enough room. I rotate my right foot so the top half is on the brake pedal. Where it is positioned, under light braking I have a hard time tapping the gas but under hard braking the pedals are very close so it only takes a twist of my ankle to tap the gas pedal.
I really can't even imagine trying to heal-toe any other way. I've tried method two before but it was very ackward and I wasn't ever able to match rpm. I am left handed as well if that has anything to do with it. lol.

With the white **** falling again today we'll surpass the 17 feet of snow mark so left foot braking / heel and toe driving are the only things bringing a smile to my face these days.......oh and my honey !

I learned on a 280ZX and the brake was positioned relatively low in relationship to the gas pedal so heal on the brake seemed pretty natural.
