Guage reflectors idea...
I know this topic has been talked about for a long time but I like to tweek things so they are professionaly done rather then foil which can tear!
I got some alluminum today from lowes about 2 mm thick! is there a way to polish the allumium to a mirror finish? And I had an idea of placing the alluminum at the bottom of the plastic instead of the top. Has anyone tried this way? Will it emit more light sense its not going through the plastic which isn't so clear even after you clean off the old chrome finish?
And from superbrightleds.com what are the best ones to use, I am looking at either the x4 x5 or the x6 sense they are 360 degree light emmitense?
Thanks

I used a foil tape made for the stained glass industry - it's called Brite Bak and only available at craft stores that do stained glass. You'll have to look around for the 2" wide stuff...when I was looking, it seemed all anyone stocked retail was the smaller size(s). I got a whole roll from a local guy who does stained glass for a living. I have enough to do quite a few more if anyone wants to send me their cluster sans instruments!
When I told him what I was doing, he was very curious, but confident this would work great. He was correct...worked like a champ. You have to put it on and then trim around the edges with a razor blade but it's a near perfect fit and very sticky stuff.
