Question Loose strut cartridge

I found that the large "nut" that holds the strut cartridge came loose. Not the one at the top of the strut, but the one on the strut housing. This caused a shaking under hard braking. At first I thought a warped rotor, but they are brand new. I also checked the wheel bearing clearance and then saw the movement at the strut when rocking the rotor at the 12 and 6 o'clock position.

It looks like a special tool is required to tighten this thing. What do you use? I just hand tightened it for now. How tight should this be?

I use big pipe wrench or channel locks and snug it real good.
