MB's rock big time,

fantastic build quality, electric everything, all the gadgets, you dont drive an MB you point and go !

Loverly cars to drive, GF has 2, I driven them both,

however depreciation on MB's suck, and maint is akin to the porsche , quite expensive.

they are 2 different beast's, the s2 is very creaky, but feels like an animal
always get looks, especially the cab version, MB's have a certain presence on the roads so gets the same attenion

you need to drivce bpth, but beware you'l prolly end up buying the MB as its a darling to drive

I replaced the 928 with a 330iC A/T but found it boring so I bought the 944 Cab which I realy enjoy.

Now I miss the V8 so why not a V8 Cab?
Anyone own or owned both with a comment?

Does it not mean anything in colloquial Afrikaans?

Ooooh sorry my mistake, I thought about the possibility but then decided there's no way this guy can speak Afrikaans. Its spelled bliksem but there's no way you could know that from hearing him say it, besides with my English spelling I'm the last person to correct anyone.

Meantime I'm still right there in the middle of the decision. I wish I could keep the S2 and buy the SL ............................. perhaps if I sell my Quad, my bike and my bakkie ................ no that won't do either BLIKSEM!!!

I know the good stuff (why is it always that you learn the curse words first?).

Have you driven a 500SL yet? Go test drive one for a while and then see how you like it. Also pop the hood and imagine you're working on it - try seeing how easy/hard it looks to work on.

I love MB but not the newer ones. I will never buy anything made after 1995, and I really prefer the 60s 70s and 80s models, in that order! But I guess I like the style and class more than the power and luxury. Good luck in your decision.
