If it is an 83, it more than likely has a manual rack.

Not sure about the year, just that it's butt *** ugly inside! (Script seats though)
I might just end up buying the whole car.

The manual racks have a much smaller housing since they don't store a ton of fluid inside, have a much smaller 'head' on them where the shaft enters the rack, and have a big adjustment bolt on the front.
The power racks have a big fat middle section, and fluid lines coming off the back and down each side.

Very easy to tell the difference between the two

Easiest way to tell is to see if it has a power steering fluid reservoir in the engine bay or a mounting bracket for one if it was removed.

For the record, the manual steering cars did come with the reservoir mounting bracket.

Blast!
I'll take a gander at the rack then, there's no engine under there to get in my way.

If you end up with the phone dials and break up the set, I could take one of them.

My alignment shop tells me that one of mine is bent although I haven't been able to confirm this.

I assume the RH dash vent is toast but if not I would buy that from you also.

Thanks for saving parts!
