If you're going to Hershey this year, there is a guy there that cuts them. I think he has blanks also.
Can't guarantee that he'll be there this year, but I've seen him there a lot over the years. Called "Clark's Keys."

I remember someone in the past saying its easier to just get an aluminum key and then get it cut where ever. Claimed the aluminum is softer on the lock internals or something...

When I needed another key I just ordered one from the dealer. They only needed my VIN and proof of ownership. A few days later they had a new precut key for me to pick up.

You can cut it and file the blank to fit into the plastic head. I have done it before and it doesn't take that long if you have an air grinder. 5 minutes is all it takes.

I already have a 944 rubber key blank, I just need someone to cut it. I have had the VW style keys cut in the past, but I want to have my actual Porsche blank cut but since it is steel no one will do it.

I ran around one day trying to find a guy who would cut a key, but kept getting the response that since it was metal, it was too hard on the new style cutting machines, and no one would do it. Finally went up to the dealer and they cut it for like 15 bucks, but said if I would have bought the blank through them, they would cut for free. The key blank is pretty inexpensive, it is the plastic head that costs more.
Then one of the guys did the same thing here at the shop the other day, only he went to the locksmith and the old man cut the key without any problems......and it was one of the shops I had tried that previous day and was turned away, lol.

Had mine done at Walmart...told them it was the same as a VW. They even cut my lighted key blank. Most lock smiths won't do any key blank that is steel like the lighted blanks are.
