I believe the 87+ waterpumps came standard with the 2 posts for the guard rail. But now all the pumps they sell should have these, even pumps for an '86.
Also I believe the 3.0L motor uses the extra water outlet like the turbo uses. The NA either has a block-off plate on this outlet, or came with no outlet at all!
