Default Front spoiler, easy removal install options?

Is there any way to adapt the front spoiler on a '86 944 for an easy removal / install?

I'm trying to resolve an electrical issue with the front passenger side parking light. It appears that I need to remove the spoiler to track the wiring in lieu of going through the engine compartment.

In addition, I'm unable to get the car on the Hughes car hauler because of the spoiler. If I can easily detach and reattach the spoiler it will save the $ on adapting the trailer.

Any suggestions?

Depends on what you consider "easy"... I can pull one off in about 20-30 minutes barring no hang ups..

With the connection points, I don't think you're going to find a quick connect type measure.

You really shouldn't need to pull the spoiler to track the wiring down, in my opinion.

The primary issue is tracking down the problem with the side parking light. Either I fix the light issue or drive the car with no valid inspection. She's not a DD but Spring is coming and I'm wanting to get her out on drives and AXs. The parking light issue HAS to be fixed.

There is no voltage coming out of the connections. This is the only light that does not work, so it's not a fuse problem. HELP!

There is an access panel inside the fender wells that allows you to remove the three bolts on each side holding the spoiler in place (in addition to the easily accessible nuts). Are there any engineers here that could design a quick release for these three bolts?

I can get those from underneath and if you take the light out it's even faster!

Did not want to leave this thread hanging. The light is fixed.

The connector located behind the spoiler was corroded. Cleaned the contacts and reassembled.

Moving on to tighten the emergency brake then find a shop that will pass my car for inspection w/o a light on the plate.

I thought you were gonna pull the panel and just move the plate up?

After pulling the carpet and looking at the panel, I don't see any bolts or attachments to remove it.

The foam/sound deadening material appears to be original equipment. The panel may be glued in.

It also appears as though the light that should be behind the panel has been removed. The wiring for the light has been spliced and now runs out under the rear bumper. It may take attaching after market lights to the inner side of the bumpers to illuminate the plate.

Before I go this route, I'll take the car to the repair facility / consignment sales lot I purchased it from and see if they will pass it (after I tighten the emergency brake).

If you have power wires running back there, they sell a lic plate bracked with built in lights, all you have to do is wire them in, would be the easiest fix IMO. May even keep your plate from getting bent up so badly!

I've been to Porsche Hickory to see if they had one, and visited Advance Auto Parts, again a dead end.

My Carolina Region PCA frame has resolved the bending problem, but I've not had the car on any high speed runs since installation.

This might be a google search. If a lighted frame is available, and I MUST buy one for the once a year installation, I'll find it.

I'll check to see if the wiring is hot and if so, I'll order.
