Really easy. Under the carpet of the passenger's side. All you need is a socket I believe and a philips. The plug into it comes off and up like a hinge, so only pull on the side that comes out at first. How do you know it needs to be changed if you've never seen it?

Default DME

I know where it is located at. I might not have worded my question just right. What I wanted to know was how hard is it to change. I don't know if this is the problem. But, here is one of my posts as I have been trying to figure this out myself.

I have an 87 944 N/A. My car will crank and start up and run, then, out of no where, it just dies. At that point, we cannot locate any fire or spark. At that time it loses its spark/fire. Then, when we try to start it, it just cranks and crank and cranks. It's not that it is not getting any fuel, it is not getting any fire or spark from what we can tell. Out side of changing the DME computer, are there any other thoughts as to what this problem can be? We are totally stumped! It starts when it wants to, and it dies when it wants to. I am in desperate need of thoughts and/or advice. Thank you! p.s We have changed the DME relay
