Default Don't know what I am doing is this correct?

Check out the picture can someone tell me if this is the correct assembly sequence?

If not what is?

The "O" ring should have a split in the inner circumference which allows it
to fit around the thermostat. However, most after market rings are solid which makes
correct assembly impossible. In the pic. if the ring will fit on the `stat, then that is
the correct order.

Yeah, what AR10 said. That doesn't look like the correct gasket. It should be a rubber "garter" that fits around the edge of the T-Stat. Also, what T-Stat is that? I'd spring for OE: Wahler. Mine came with the correct gasket. They are only ~ $18. Just make sure you check it's function in a pot of water on stovetop before installing. Use a meat or candy thermometer. Should be open around 180F. There seems to be a rash of defective ones recently, causing the engine to run hotter. BTDT

I drill a small hole in the Tstat flange to assist in bleeding the cooling system. 1.5mm or so. It might not be needed now that I bleed the system by pressurizing the overflow tank, but I do it anyway.
