Default NLA: trailing arm spacers (early)

I was doing a rear wheel bearing job on the 1984 944 with steel trailing arms. I wanted to replace the spacer rings

113 501 305 ... spacer ring inner
113 501 303 ... spacer ring outer

because they showed signs of wear from the seals, and also just looked cooked and stressed in general. Well a call to the dealer said they are no longer available. I guess I'll be using my old parts and hoping for the best. Does anyone know of a source or solution?

This happened around a year ago. The spacer should be fairly easy to machine. It would probally be a good project for some of the rennlist machinist. As of right now I have been trying to find good used spacers and stub axles off of ebay.

I just went to a Porsche dismantler and bought a pair of used stub axles a few days ago. I went back asking if they might have any spacers that might be in a little better shape than mine. He looked at mine, then whistled and said my spacer was absolutely destroyed, and contributing to my broken wheel bearing and bent stub axle. At this point I was very glad I didn't just slap the old part in.

So he showed me some used ones he had, and once I saw those, which represented what one SHOULD look like, I was impressed with how f*cked up mine were. Then I picked the best out of his bunch, and it looked almost new, and I stuck that in.

I wonder if the spacers are made out of any type of specially hardened steel, or just plain stainless. The dismantler gave it to me for free with the other stuff I was buying... so it should be easy for a machinist like Sharky to get one and try duplicating it.

Looks like they got more in just recently.

There are 612 of that part number in the Porsche Warehouse in Germany. It will need to be "expedited" to get in about 3-5 days.
