Default Rearview Mirror Day/Night Probs

My interior rearview mirror doesn't switch between day and night modes. The day/night lever moves smoothly but does not cause the day/night mode change.

Note that the prob is only with the day/night mode; the mirror assembly is correctly attached to the windshield.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks,
Paul

probably the easiest thing to do is to just go to a junkyard or online and get a new mirror. probably some crappy plastic part broke inside the mirror

The lever and mirror frame are one piece of plastic. With age and bending it back and forth to switch from day to night angles, they eventually break. Mine did.... Your best bet is to get a new mirror. I got a used one, and it ended up breaking in a few months

I will look to see if there is a part number on the one I bought a few years back from Autozone for like $12 that was almost identical to the one that came out of my car. It was just a generic mirror they had sitting on the shelf.
