Default Removing early 944 face gauges.

How do you remove the early 944 face gauges without destroying the rings located around the the glass?

They will not be pristine when you are done no matter what. However, if you do a careful job taking them off, you will not be able to tell once back on and inserted. Make sure you find the gap and start from there (I think it is on the bottom of the gauge/bezel and it is small). Then, with a sharp flathead or knife, slowly pry around the bezel in 1/8 inch (or smaller) increments. I cut myself almost every time. So, be careful. Michael

The only way is very carefully and slowly work or twist a small screwdriver around outside edge of the guage all away around. It bends very easily, so take your time. It will eventually pop off. You will not be able to crimp it back on like the factory did but it will snap back on and you won't notice the "decrimping" if you took your time. It takes a few tries to get it started, but remember not to go to fast. Good luck
