Water pump - do the bolts break?

I'm scared @#&*less now also. Just ordered my new waterpump and I'm having second thoughts. Good thing is that the motor is out of the car, so I guess if something breaks I'll have room to take a drill, torch, jackhammer to it if need be.

These are just the horror stories. A lot of the time, the bolts come out easily. Just be sure to do all the precautions stated here. And even if they break, there are solutions. It's better than leaving your old pump in there, which could cause timing belt failure and destroy your engine.

Oh lord, nothing to be scared of, just spray it with a little pb blaster or kroil, let it sit for an hour, and remove the bolts like has been mentioned above. I have seen very few bolts or studs break on a waterpump, and I do this every day.
