951 OEM hatch shocks
I know that OEM hatch shocks are probably not the most economical route however my 951 is in excellent condition, all original and I would like to keep it that way. I am newly back in the "club" and the internet wasn't around when I had my 944 so any help would be greatly appreciated.
eBay has several shocks listed by sellers claiming OE, OEM, and OEM Direct Fit. If I want to get an original pair which of these would be best? Thanks in advance.

Not sure.
There has been some debate on here about whether new shocks precipitate the separation of frame/glass in the hatch. There was enough opinion saying they do that i've put off installing new ones.
just something to think about.

Pcar944...interesting, the hatch does need a new frame/glass seal as well, one of the very few things wrong with the car. That may be the reason the previous owner never replace the shocks.

You can try searching this forum for the thread.
I hardly ever open mine, plus it looks like it may be starting to separate so i've decided to just leave it as is.
ps. nice car. I love the aero mirrors.

Thanks, the previous owner (icat) actually has the entire mirror installation documented somewhere...he also did the color coded door handles...it's amazing the difference those two items make for the overall look of the car. I picked a bad day for pics doesn't do the car much justice and will have more soon but here are a few with the handles.
