Default a little heavy

Ok iv had my 944 N.A. for about 2 years now. The performance is good but it would nice if it was beter but every one says its cheaper not to upgrade and just get a turbo so I thought I would start a topic on stuff the N.A. guys can do. If you have any ideas on how to get rid of some of the non needed weight of the car let me know.

Some relatively easy and cheap things you can do..

-Rear seatback removed ~14lbs
-Spare tire, jack and tools removed ~40lbs
-Rear seatbelt delete ~2-3lbs
-Stainless Steel cat-back ~16lbs
-Test pipe savings were marginal, only 6 or 7 lbs from the stock y-pipe
-Odyssey PC-680MJ lightweight battery : 27lbs.. my old Diehard battery weighed 43lbs!
-Rubber liner under carpet ~3lbs
-Euro fiberglass bumpers : 22lbs off the aluminum bumper, you can potentially save around 44lbs total with both front and rear, this includes the difference in weight from the bumper shocks and hard mounts. This is also a great reduction because they are also at the very ends of the car, making the reduction all the more effective (think polar moment of inertia).
-A/C compressor and bracket was 22lbs.. i didnt get as far to take out the lines, condenser...etc.

Aftermarket seats also help.. if you have electric seats in your car they come in at about 45-50lbs each. My 4-way power leather sport seats were around 52lbs. A reclining seat from Momo, Sparco or Recaro is about 30lbs with the sliders and adapter bracket. So you save about 40lbs total there.

I weighed all of this stuff myself using the bathroom scale method. So my #'s may not be 100% accurate.

You can get close to 200lbs off the car with these items. Some are more expensive than others obviously.

If you search there is a crazy spreadsheet that indicates the weight of a lot of the items on the car.

what about Fiberwerks bumper? or just shaving the rubber pads off (as in taking them off)?

I think exhaust, battery, rear seat, and spare are the easiest things to do
