Default Exhausted with exhaust

I need some help guys. The PO of my car decided he wanted a louder exhaust note. At first I liked it, and sometimes I still do. But for the most part it's just too loud. Luckily he kept the stock cat-back system. Unfortunately he cut the flange off it and had it welded onto the new exhaust system.

I was thinking I could cut the flange off, and have it re-welded onto the stock exhaust. While this is far beyond my abilities, I was thinking a local machine shop could do it. But then I get to thinking, maybe it would be easier just to take it to a shop to have it done and put on in one go. Any suggestions?

Any local muffler shop should be able to weld a flange on for you.
