Default Max offset/width for 83 944?

Hi all,

I have been looking into buying some new wheels for my 83. I'm looking at the CCW Classics. I was wondering what the maximum width for the front and rear would be? The guy from CCW said most people go with a 9" front and 10" rear. I wouldn't be afraid to roll the fenders if necessary to fit a slightly wider rear. Have any of you done this? My car still has the stock suspension but I would like to lower it. It may see some track time in 2008.

Also, what would the offsets turn out to be?

Thanks!

Any Porsche Wheel will work on a Early 944. (no C-GT ones though. :P )

I am currently using a custom 993 wheel. It is 18x8 and 18x11. I have 225/40ZR18 and 285/30ZR18 Pirelli Tires. I will be using a 295/30 Michelin shortly though. Offset on the Wheels is ET36. I am not running and additional spacers, its the same fit as my 15" Phone Dials.

If you plan to lower it. Go with max 9" Front and 10" Rear. I'd recommend a 8" front though as you dont need that wide up front.

I do get rubbing if I hit a large pothole or hill too fast. It happens rarely now that I know what not to do. I am using the stock suspension. Been using them for over 8 months now.
