I think my initial reaction when I first arrive at the swap every time is one of "holy crap there's alot of stuff and I need to scout it all out NOW"....so I race around the lanes and hit them all in about 15mins...and realize I've really seen nothing.

Then I spend the next hour or so going REALLY slowly down each lane...which is usually how I have found what I've bought in the past. I think if you go there looking for that "one thing" you'll be dissapointed because it may not be there.

Best thing I've found the last few years is to spend the few weeks leading up to the swap making a list of all the stuff I could use and what I could otherwise buy it for on Fleabay. Then I've got my shopping list with Check-prices for Hershey.

Flash...shoot me a PM and I'll give you my cell #...I usually go up the nite before and leave after I am done with the swap...keep my # and give me a buzz when you're there!

I do agree that Hershey is pretty 911-centric, but there is plenty of other stuff out there. Personally, I'm more interested in various Porsche-related accessories and the social aspect of it. I think the only thing I actually bought for my car last year was a shift **** cap.

I've always found exceptional deals there. Hanging with the Rennicrowd is by far the best reason to go.
I havent heard anything about a Rennlist banquet as of yet.

I think the % of 944/951 stuff is relative to the percentage of vehicles produced. The will be more 911 stuff, always is. but a set of 16" Boxster wheels with decent Potenza tires last year cost me 200 bucks. I picked up a spare 924S OEM PD wheel for 5 bucks- round and true.

Bargain hunters paradise of Porsche parts.

well me and my friend rick went up to hershey to get my self a new fender. we must have gone up to everybody but no one had any and just said to give them a call and will ship via fed ex. Rick and I went up to this one guy who didnt have any signs out or any thing but seemed to have a lot of stuff for sale. I went up to him asking him if he had anything for a 944? He turns around look at me like I just insulted him. he starts giving me a history lesson on the 944 and how he used to work in Germany. he said that originaly it was supposed to be a audi but audi didnt want the car so porsche took over and manufactured it. He starts laughing and saying that its not a real porsche its a powdy. I should get rid of it because its not a real one. 911 is the way to go. "911 drivers were apperantly gifts from god. i really felt like hitting him in his face

simple solution for folks like that....keep walking. I have never encountered anything but nice people in the 8+ years I have been attending...so the odds are that other than maybe seeing the same jerk...you won't have any more issues like that.

And besides...I think the 944 series certainly did well by the marque financially....I have heard people refer to it before as the car that saved the company.

I will be taking I-78W most of the way there, so if anyone wants to get some tentative plans for a caravan from the NYC, NNJ area let me know.
