For some reason 944 spark plug wires are crazy expensive. I see spark plug wires, like high quality ones like Bosch go for 30-40 bucks for some other cars.

now for a 944 a Bosch wire set is like 140 bucks.

cheapest wires I've found are the Magenecores on pelican for like 60 buck.

I don't want to get crap wires but I also don't want to pay a crazy amount.

will the cheap wires like the magnecores make the car run worse? I know the wires have to have the proper restistance.

don't think anything is wrong with my current wires but they are proably the original wires I'm guessing and I want to replace them as I've replaced the cap and rotor / plugs already.

I did some search on here and bunch of people were complaining that the magnecore wires rip easily when installing them.

do they fit properly on the spark plug wires without leaking or popping off?

for 60 bucks the price is way cheaper than Bosch or Beru wires so I think I'll try them unless someone know of another wires set with similar cost.

I guess all products have both good and bad reviews. I read a couple reviews on the magnecor wires here and found that a few people had them rip at the boot when installing them

also couple people were saying that their car started misfiring with the magnecor wires or wouldn't fit on the spark plugs properly.

is it a good idea to change the spark plugs if they are old?

I have no idea how old my wires are but they are the Beru wires probably original, and the car has 250,000 kms.

new Beru/ bosch wires are like 150 bucks so I doubt most 944 owners replace them unless they go bad.

mine aren't torn or anythng.

If you're gonna replace the wires, you might as well do the plugs too. I would.

They were a b!tch to snap down on to the plug but no real problems so far.

Many have said the Beru wires fit the best.

I do agree , the caps are not as good as the oem beru caps .The issue with the magnecore wires are when you install them , the caps trap air in them . Use a little contact cleaner , dilectric greese on the plug tip , and a hook tool or like tool to let the air out as you snap them on the plugs . Then they are almost a vacuum fit and WILL not come off .

Good quality wires otherwise .

I have nology Hot wires on mine , but they feel kind of loose where the spark plugs are attached, anyway to fix this...

Exactly. my car always had magnecore wires on, and this "air trap" issue was the only problem that i ever had with them.

well I had my car in tunnig and checking some surging issue , in boise idaho the bill was 1400 and ripper mechanic charge me 420.00 for a set ignition wires!!! they said porsche on, so i don't know if he really pay that much at dealer , or if that include cap rotor, I was piisss --so just sign charge and left the place my car runs like a champ now thats the only good thing but I got rip I guess...

The air trap isn't a problem, it is made like this on purpose to prevent moisture from entering the plug hole.

I go through wires like crazy on my race cars and I use many brands including magnecore, which is up to par with the rest. If your saving a bunch of money, but are worried about destroying something when installing, just pretend you are being paid that saved money to take the time and carefully install your wires properly. I don't see this actually bringing up any issues for you.

dumb question how do you know if you need new wires?

I'm just replacing mine as I assume they are original but the car is running fine. would new plugs make your car run better?

wires I mean, already changed my plugs, cap and rotor last year all Bosch.
