Default hooking up a Blaupunkt cd player

So i just bought a Blaupunkt florida cd player off ebay and was wondering which harness I need to buy? Is this something I can go get at a local audio store maybe even best buy or do I have to buy through crutchfield.

Also, can I just quick splice the new harness in or does it have to soldered?

as long as no one did a hack job on the wiring on the car side, most likely it will be a straight fit.

If the deck does not have the matching wires, you'll need this

Solder to the deck wires. If the plugs are gone from the car side, go to a car stereo store and get a generic harness with the corresponding plug to put on your deck.

I only solder my connections. In the past, I didn't. One day driving down the road, the electrical tape came off on the hot side, grounded out and burned off all the insulation filling the car with smoke. For some reason, it did not blow the fuse. So now it's solder and heat shrink tubing + electrical tape.

Check out http://www.midwestelectronics.com/ to get the exact wiring harness for the hu. Connecting the new wiring harness up to the factory setup is pretty easy. The hard part is getting all the wires jammed back in there correctly so the hu can fit.

the question should have been asked before purchase, unless you bought it for a rediculosly low price.

i don't know if crutchfield had the florida model but they have free harnesses for what they sell.

Crutchfield will be able to sell you what you need, assuming you still have the factory harness.

Do you still have the factory deck installed? If not you need to pull you deck and see if the origional harness is still there. I found that my PO cut off my origional plugs, So I get to break out the old fluke meter and figure out what is what. Its not a very hard job but I would have prefered to still have my original harness.

p.s. If you have any questions regarding your audio install or any audio related questions, feel free to pm me. I used to work at a high end audio shop a few years back and I have done hundreds if not thousands of installs.
