New Rear hatch Seal, but still get the fumes
Hi all. I installed the new rear hatch seal yesterday, but I still get the fumes when the sunroof is up or the windows are down. What gives?? I do need to tighter the hatch pins, I had them replaced and the hatch rattles. Should I crank them down and get as tight a fit as possible.
I also had someone see if the fumes were coming in though the A/C vents but that isn't the case.
I have a feeling the exhaust the PO put on the car is too short and the tail pipe doesn't extend far enough. I ordered a full exhaust from SFR last week, so maybe that helps. I hope

If the pins are not adjusted enough and they rattle, I'd take care of that before anything else. I shut my hatch the other day but didn't get the left pin hooked all the way in, and my eyes were burning. Got out and pressed gently until it clicked and it's been fine ever since. If it's loose enough to rattle, I'd bet air/exhaust is getting in as well.

Easiest place to check for glass separation is at the top of the glass (towards the front of the car), and on either the driver's or passenger side of the third brake light. You should be able to see de-lamination of the glue at those points.

What exactly would this "de-lamination" look like? On my car, the dark black edging is not consistently the same everywhere, especially at the top of the hatch, but I don't have any leaks either. How hard is it to re-do the rear window back there with new seals if I should develop a leak or rattles, etc.?
