I have a booklet published by Porsche which gives an engine number decoder for the 924S and 944 and has a lot of other useful info. It is usually called the "Technical Specifications" manual. The engine number just gives very basic information like the engine capacity and production target (USA, Canada, RoW, worldwide, etc.) and serial number.

Based on the booklet I have, I think the 43D 0385 may be your engine number. Unfortunately my booklet does not cover the Turbo, but I know they have one for the Turbo.

I don't know what the other numbers mean.
