Bought a set of 4- 12pt. from reputable parts store. 6,8,10 &12..... 8m.m. just will not go in and 6 is way to small. is it possible they used 7m.m.? have thoroughly cleaned bolts and surrounding area in prep for axle change. no debris in the way. 1985/5 944

 

Have you checked the thread pitch of the bolt? I don't remember what the axle flange is, but there is M8x1.0 and M8x1.25 bolts.

 

M8 X 1.25 is used on the CVs'.

 

Are you sure they are 12 points? Maybe someone swapped them out and put in allen bolts?
