Default 87' 944S Timing / cam gear cover problem / cracked

I was changing my water pump, timing belt last nite and noticed that the rear cover behind the camshaft gear is broken at the mounting tabs. I took a look at the distributor cap and seen that it is barely making contact with the rotor contacts...
I took off the camshaft gear and this is what I have.. I don't think it can be fixed, I really don't know how this happens to a cover that is completely covered up. Maybe someone over tightened the 2 10mm bolts and cracked the tabs. 1 tab is completely broken off and the other one is cracked and bent upward. It has been this way for a long time, it almost looks like it has started to corrode away. There is no way that I can "just" put it back on without some modifing the tabs and cover to fit again.
I checked Pelican parts, Zims and a few other places on the net and it is NLA at all the sites.
It is #28 on the attached photo from pelican parts.

Does anyone know if I can "fix" it by getting it welded and if someone has one for sale??

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Wow you suck. Where did you learn to turn a wrench?
Just kidding. I'm sure you or I can fix that

Something like that...I wouldn't even try to fix it. Just get a new/used one and be done with it.
