Perfect for making one of these:

I made this one out of a Mitsubishi block that had scored cylinders that I got for free.
I still have the coffee table and the wine rack in my living room in my new place, with my girlfried.

Nice furniture Wallace.

I bought a torque wrench that had it's case damaged during shipping that I use as breaker bar. I know you're not supposed to use a torque wrench to do that, but when the minimum setting is 400ft-lb and goes up to 1500, it's quite hard to even find an impact that can do that. Tho the impact would probably less likely to shear the bolt, this wrench is about 45lbs and assembles to a length of just over 6 feet.

I love the wine stand -- and I commend you for keeping that with a g/f. That would have been the first thing that would have "moved" to the back of the closet in my house!

I gave up trying to keep interior of my home somewhat manly -- I get the garage, basement and outside -- which is enough.

The engine was not a katrina as there was still oil and some coolant in it. I would expect those to have washed away!

What can I expect for cost of re-hone? Can any shop do it? How about re-sleeve? -- I saw a place did it for 1000. Anyplace cheaper?

I take back what I said. DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THAT ENGINE. You can find a used motor out there that has good compression +/- 10% if it's high mileage. Then, drop that thing into your car for cheap.

hi

if you boil engine oil in a old pan then poor it into the bores of the engine and let it stand for a couple of minutes if your lucky it should be thin enough to run down the side of the pistons then turn crank shaft and remove as normal

remember boil the engine oil outside

I remember hearing a story about a man wanting to port/polish his own head and just hooked a hose up to the intake, started the engine, and stuck the end of the hose in a bag of glass beads...I would imagine this is what it looked like.
