Default Stripped starter two sided bolt...

I went to check to see if my starter wires were tight (having a minor startup issue). The main power was indeed lose. So I tightened it. Sure enough, a few foot-pounds later, the bolt (or the nut, not sure which) stripped. It won't come off, even while pulling on the wires while I turn the nut to generate some outward force. No luck. It's an O'Reilly Auto Parts Rebuilt Bosch starter, with a lifetime warranty. Any ideas where I can get that bolt if it's indeed the bolt? While they will probably replace it under warranty, would rather just swap out the bolt.

Man, just get another starter...it will be much easier than replacing the main power bolt.

Just tell Reilly it spun when taking off the nut. The Bakelite is probably cracked and it's not worth the effort w/ a Lifetime Warranty. Even though the Lifetime rebuilt might not be as good as a new one it's hard to beat the warranty. My son used to go through CV's on his Acura Legend coupe every 6 months driving pizza and they replaced at least 6 axles for free.

Thanks. Sounds like the plan will be to get a new one under warranty.
