I have a Britax Booster seat (Found via a search here...thank you rennlist!) which fits perfectly in the back seat and gets the shoulder belt where it's supposed to be on my son...another year or so and he'll be fine in the regular seat.

Youngest (4) in a booster seat in the front (no airbag). Oldest (10) in the front with no booster seat. Middle (6) is the toughest. She usually sits in the back with no booster seat. No shoulder strap either so safety is not ideal, so we usually keep it to low-speed cruising around the area. Anything can happen anywhere though, so I wish it was setup better for kids, but they just weren't made that way in 1986.

I do recall a thread at some point about adding shoulder belts to cars that did not have them in the back seats....
and if you search here you will find the Britax model of booster seat that has the adjustable width bottom...that's the one that fits in the back.

I use my 86 944 NA as a daily driver, and thus delivering my 5yo at kindergarden every day.
Nice when the other young'uns crowd at the gate and say "Cool car!", and my son says "It's a Porsche!"
A tiny bit embarassing, but I grin widely to myself afterwards. :-)
Other parents often scowl at me, I feel, not aware that their blandwagons cost 3-4 times as much...

Other than the fact that mine is a turbo, I could have written that word for word. That is the best part of my morning routine. I use the britax in the front seat.

Ha!!!
My son'd party was also on Saturday... we went in the 951! -He loves "daddy's white car" and thinks that ALL white cars are fast, as a result!
He has to sit in his booster seat in the front passenger side of mine: Rear seat deleted, roll cage means no access to the back...
But that's another reason why he thinks it's so cool... he gets to sit in the front!

first memories...
One of my first memories as a kid is sitting in the back of my dad's 356SC on the Bay Bridge, with the orange lights passing by.
Too bad he didn't keep up with the maintenance...
