Default Belt Tensioner on 84 Porsche 944?

Hey guys,

From what I've read, the 1983-1985 Porsche 944 motors do not have a built in belt tensioner. Is there ANY way possible to install the belt tensioner from the newer year Porsche 944s?

I just don't see myself taking the timing cover off every 500 miles for the first 2000 miles just to re-adjust the timing belt, and then doing it again every 3,000 miles?

There's got to be an easier way?

Thanks!

Timing belt adjustment is once at 2000-2500 miles after installation, then every 15,000 miles until you decide to replace it. Or let it break.
