Default New OAS and Check Valve install

I bought the new OAS hose and check valve for my 87 944 turbo and am trying to figure out which end of the hose connects to the OAS. Currently there is a 90 degree hose on the oil air separator connecting it to the cluster of metal tubes. I am removing the tubes and using this new hose, I am confused as to which end to connect to the OAS. Also, does the check valve go into the small stub-out and vents to the atmosphere? I attached a picture of the new hose and check valve.

Thanks

The end with the check valve should be as close as possible to the AOS. If the hose ever becomes clogged, the check valve acts as safety valve to vent the blow-by gases from the crankcase to the atmosphere.

That must mean that even with the new hose I still need the 90 degree hose that mounts to the top of the OAS and then a male to male hose adapter to connect between the 90 degree hose and the new hose.

Yeah, I think you do. Hadn't thought about that. You should be able to go to a hardware store and just get a plumbing pipe connector the same size as the inner diameter of the hose. I want to say its 3/4", but I'm not sure.
