Default fossilized center caps

So my center caps were looking hideous and I wanted to do somethign about it.

Sorry, not the best pics, but I think it's a big improvement.

Next, I need to refinish the wheels themselves.

Looks great. It's amazing what a little effort will do. Personally I'll take that nice woodworkers bench off your hands

Actually the bench belongs to my dad, he makes violins.

Thanks! First I cleaned them off, then wet sanded them. I started with 150 grit, then went to 400 grit, then 1500 and 3200 grit micromesh. The micromesh is great, it's actually for intended for woodworking but it works on metal also. It goes all the way up to 12000 grit. I thought 3200 was good enough though.

It only took about 15 minutes per cap.

looks good.... but were they in a flood or something. Now I want to see what the rest of the car looks like. lol...

Not as good. I need to refinish my wheels. The polished center caps look kind of out of place against the faded black paint on my Fuchs.
