Default Electrical Problem?

I know I have some sort of problem, im just looking for some advice. I didnt get into details but I fired up my 84 944 when i got home from work. I turned on all the lights and i had no interior or guage lights! I turned the car off and put the key to accessory. Once i did that i turned the headlights on, they went up and worked fine but still no guage or interiors. Also, with the key on accesory, when i hit the brake pedal the radio would turn off. My battery light has been on and i was figuring the battery just needed to be charged or what-not. But my main problem is, if the battery has enough juice to crank the motor over, shouldnt that be enough to work the interior and guage lights? Ive heard people talk about cleaning grounds but im not sure which ones i should attack. Ill also have to look tomorrow for blown fuses. Im just so confused cus everything was fine last night!

Electrical problems tend to be confusin. There are a number of ground points and it may well be that the guage cluster ground has loosened off. There are two ways to find it. The easiest is on your back looking up under the dash. There are two grounding points and it will obvious. The more difficult way but best for working on stuff is to remove the guage cluster and that involves removing the steering wheel. Once you get the guages out you can also replace the reflective material and that really improves night time visibility.

I've never had to remove the steering wheel.

so my next question is, how to remove the dash if i want to do that. I know the guages just slide out, and i though you need to take the steering wheel off to do that, also whats the easiest way tp get my steering wheel off (its a 3 spoke wheel with porsche emblem in the middle)?

No, but I find that removing the steering wheel makes it easier.
