Default Sway Bar discussion and red S2 in lot on Colfax this morning

I was walking to work this morning at about 6:45 and i see a red 944 go into a parking lot. as i turn the corner i see it in a spot and the owner walking away. i didn't get a chance to see if he is a board member.

Now for the technical question/discussion:

My S2 has the M474 shocks on pretty firm and stock 26.8/18 sways. i like the balanced feel.

I have a M030 30mm front and just bought the 28mm Weltmeister and 22mm weltmeister from a board member.

put the 22 in the rear, and which one in the front? Why? Any experiences?

I already got two peoples opinion and see the merit of each.

Also, a buddy/board member has a 19mm M030 rear in his 951S. Something tells me he will take the front i dont use. what would be a better balance for each of us.

We run the same size tire on all four wheels.

As a data point, been running the 968 MO30 set up front and rear on my car for a long while. I really like the balance I had with the stock M474 set up I had and it is still great with the suspension swap to 350lb front 30mm rear. Some claim too much understeer, but I never felt that way, always thought my car behaved fairly neutral and I am only running the middle setting on the rear bar. I am also running 245/45 -16's all around on the the track.

Cheers,

Put the welt sway bar on. It is a match for the rear plus you can adjust it to make the balance spot on perfect.

I vote welts. They make they car flat as a table in just about all cornering.

/happy user of welts

The only thing that sucks about them is they weight a ****load (the front one at least), so it can be a fun time trying to hold the bar in place while mounting it.

I agree totally. If you have them put them on and don't look back. You will be happy you did.
