Default Adjusting throttle cable

I'm getting ready to do the throttle response cam tomorrow and as far as putting on the new cam, looks simple, but the instructions mentioned adjusting the tension of the cable and I want to be clear on that before I start the job. How exactly will I adjust it once the new cam is on, and know what the right amount of tension looks and feels like? I think it mentioned to use the screws right next to the throttle cam, do they just turn left and right and it increses/decreses the tension?

Lastly, it mentioned the stop on the bottom of the gas pedal. What do I do with that? The instructions cut off halfway through the paragraph. Thanks for the help...can't wait to try it out.

the happy medium.

loose enuff so it doesn't increase rpm but not so loose as to have a delayed throttle response.

make sure the idle stop screw is adjusted properly, just touching, then 1/2 turn more/lockdown.

I am bumping this up because I have seen threads on here that mention the adjustment on the firewall. The early 944s (before 85.5) have 2 nuts that help you tighten up the slack. The late ones on do not. How do you adjust the late ones at the firewall????

I use the two nuts on the end of the throttle cable to adjust it.

Make sure you leave the cable loose enough so the tps is able to fully close.

yup those are the only two to adjust them. I have a sticking throttle cable now thanks to that stupid aftermarket throttle cam.
