Wait, so if m030 struts have no spring perch...I need a picture. Confused now for sure.

Definitely not doing any SCCA nationals anytime soon, although it is a possibility someday.

Okay, so what's the short story on getting strut parts / mods for m030 (what to get and from where) and where do I find those springs that aren't saggy from 20 years of compression?

Imagine your struts with the OEM spring perch cut off and an adjustable spring perch instead. Here is the parts diagram for a 968. Left is M030 right is regular.

You can use M030 springs from any 87-89 8v NA 944. The rule says from the same model year but the part number is the same for all years after 87. Best bet is to find someone parting out a car. You could also prob call some of the larger dismantlers (944 ecology maybe?) As far as sagging springs youre at the mercy of the seller. Fortunately springs dont lose rate really so if they are in good physical condition wiht not a lot of rust you should be ok.

How is the ride height on your car? Has the rear been lowered using the eccentrics? From what I have read, the car should be set to level at the door sill and this how my car is now set. If your car is raked forward (as all US cars were to meet bumper height laws) then this might add to your noseplant situation.

Had it leveled by a great alignment shop (digital chassis). Right rear eccentric had actually been messed with sometime and it was squatting all the way down on that side when I got it.

But as far as m030, I need some springs and it sounds like strut housings (I can put in my koni sport inserts?) along with those perches. Also I saw on some parts diagrams (at dcauto.com , for instance, which is fortunately nearby) that the upper strut bearing for m030 and stock had a different part number...?

The springs on M030 cars are a little different size so that would make sense. When I pull mine apart this weekend Ill check and see if the part numbers are different.
