im not sure, i think its just in how they make tempered glass, so maybe not a laminate at all, at certain angles i could see it on my drivers/passenger side windows also, my uncle told my his old camaro had the same thing

Are you talking about the uniform 'spot' pattern that seem to appear in the glass? If so it seems like all Euro glass I've seen has the same issues after many years. I'm not sure what is different about the laminate they use but you never see it on American or Japanese cars.

I was told by a Porsche Master Mechanic that at the factory they had two ladies that painted the strips on the rear hatch by hand.
This was part of the assembly line operation.

Those were on the inside, the factory never made any with strips painted on the outside, to the best of my knowledge.

I did hear of a RUMOR that if your insurance had glass coverage and you made a big enough stink about safety that you could get them to pay for it.......
I have coverage, but I don't have a separation problem....yet...
