Just taking the ol 86 951 for a cruise around the block, and for some reason, when i hit like, 3500 or 4000 the red caution light came on, not constantly. any reasons to why it would do such a thing? parking brake was off
thanks guys

Oil level? I know my 87 951 will flash that light if the oil level gets low.

+1. I believe the light comes on at a quart low...perhaps you are almost there and the car is letting you know?

The red "!" light comes on if there is a problem with any of the critical systems on your car, including the following scenarios:
1. E-Brake is on.
2. Brake fluid is low.
3. Brake pads are low.
4. Oil pressue is low.
5. Oil level is low.
6. Temp is too high.

If the "!" light came one, there should have been another warning light on your dash lit up, unless a bulb is out.

I strongly suggest that you NOT run your car until you figure out what is causing the warning light to go on. Could be a relatively minor issue (brake pads are low) or a major issue (low oil pressure)
