Default Quick distrubutor question... no start solved.

OK, the stupid distrubutor rotor can go on two ways on the shaft.... at TDC where should this be pointing?? The rotor is so tight that I'm not sure it will come back off again without breaking and I want it to be right since they cost me 30 bucks each time it breaks.

I have searched and found that the S2 position is different from the post I found about the 944 n/a's. Mine is a Turbo car and I have it at 4-5:00 position at TDC right now, the S2 position seems to be 180 deg. the other way.... HELP!

TDC points at cylinder #1's spot on the cap.

that's what I thought, just making sure.

what am I to suspect wrong if it will start for one second then die? this car has not run since I bought it and am not sure what to think of this issue... unplugging the air flow meter doesn't change anything.

OK it runs!! I have a very high idle, around 3K - I am pretty sure it's some of the stuff under the manifold/venturi area since I did not delete it while I was in there. I knew better, but I just wanted to car to run!! Now i will have to get back under there and delete them..... grrrrr.
