no, those lights in euro bumper are long beam lights, not a fog lights. they turn on when you switch to long beams so you have 4 long beam lights.

On euro cars front fog lights are quite rare.

Nice job, I love seeing them come back to life!
This car was originally Maraschino and came with a gold pinstripe.

It's hard to tell from most of the pics with the engine out but this is an '87 S.

It "was" a GT-Racing Carrera front nose, the specs are there in the GT catalog and on the web in PDF but if memory serves, it's 1-2 deeper lip and 1-2 inches lower.

The only thing salvageable from the wreck was the lower 4 inches of the fiberglass nose, which lives on, sectioned into a friend's PCA 944 Spec racer ...

And the engine is gonna be no "10 footer" either with the Zinc bolt kit you donated....!

You and a few others here will know what I mean but this thread gives me mixed feelings.....

Sad, that I'm old enough to have a son that's nearing 20 yrs. that can rebuild a wreck like this, mostly all on his own. I visited the car a total of twice after we removed the engine for the repair and other than cutting off the new part to be sectioned in and donating a few parts from a stock turbo, Eon did most all of this work by himself.

Happy, for many of the same reasons...., that he is able to do a massive repair like this using skills and knowledge that he learned from years of watching, trying his own hand and eventually doing something like this unsupervised.

Props out to Sam Grant, Lartiga, from which a few of the necessary parts were sourced and my friend. Brent Bonadona that sectioned the wheel housing in.

350K on this car that we, together have owned for around 17 years....engine had never been opened up since I originally assembled it from boxes of parts that many years ago and now he'll get back the car he wanted with the turbo look and a fresh engine...., maybe it'll go another 17 years....

The front valence is a GT Racing part IIRC the number is 241 it is 2" lower than the factory part and deletes the fog lights.

Of course it is no 10 footer Scott, look at where I got my training and As I recall your car is no 10 footer either.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys, its been a long time coming. Almost there.......

What an outstanding restoration job! Nothing like seeing someone spend the time/money to bring one back to life....and the color is superb!

Eon,

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm really happy for you that you've got the car back on the road. Hats off to you for doing a top notch restoration and doing it RIGHT. I know it must've been heartbreaking to see it in such poor shape, but the rewarding feeling you must have right now must be awesome. The car looks better than it did before!

Now go drive it! I don't have to tell you to be careful

Ian, Thanks! It does feel pretty nice right now finally being able to drive it around after being down for a little over a year. It took a while but it was worth it to have the car back on the road again.

Yes I didn't put them back yet, one of the small things that I have left to do.

Beautiful work! What color is that paint? Was that the original color of the car? I just recently painted my car a similar color, but yours is a bit hard to pinpoint from the pics.

Aweosme job though, really looks nice!!
