Default 944Fest guys - another track day 8/23 at Waterford Hills

For those of you who didn't get enough track time at the Fest (and those poor slobs that didn't even go to the Fest) - here's another chance to play on the track.

The Saab Owners Club will have Waterford Hills (Michigan) for the day on Thursday, August 23rd. You don't need a Saab to join the fun. In fact there should be at least a couple of 944s there. And there will be at least two of us who were on track at the Fest in attendance.

See the link for details. Cost is $175. Hurry, there isn't much time left.

Is it just me, or does that track have really bad run-offs? It looks like there's tons of room (on the infield side at least), but I see a few spots it looks like one could exit the track right into oncoming traffic. Maybe there's just walls I don't see...

Like most tracks, it's best if you stay on the pavement. There are not very many bad run-off spots. There's a lot of room at the end of the back straight and at the end of the front straight . The picture is from a few years ago. A much larger run-off area has been created there. There are a couple of places where it is not a good idea to go off. One is exiting "hill top" (upper left hand corner in photo).

Tell me you wouldn't mind going off in the carousel at Nelson Ledges. I don't think there is anything like that at Waterford Hills.

Again - staying on the track is always preferred.

My home track; tons of video on my youtube account (just search for 924RACR)... very fun, VERY technical, takes a long time to learn how to go fast there. Just to throw the bogey out there... my car's good for a 1:19.1.

Dammit,

I am taking the car to Waterford that day, but to have the mechanic check out the a/c system they replaced last year.
