Wow. a chinese knock-off of a saratoga top?
Actually it looks really good. Much more open area than the saratoga, it looks like it would let in much more light.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm pretty pleased with it myself.
I've converted to manual latches, but I still use the gearboxes from the power roof as my latching points on the car, so I guess it would work on either. It just doesn't raise up at the back like the stock roof does (no great loss IMO). I also had to remove the wind deflector you pop up when the top's out.
I originally bought this to resell to buy some go-fast parts (if it was a Saratoga), but now I think I'll keep it (unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse ). It really opens up the interior, plus it weighs a good 10lbs. lighter than the stock piece. As far as safety goes, it's got to be at least as safe as the original. I wouldn't think of running a glass roof on the track, but Lexan shouldn't pose any threat, right?

I just thought I'd mention that my birthday is in a couple of weeks, and if you guys felt like it, one of these would make a really nice gift.
Just ... you know, puttin' it out there.

Hell of a co-incidence
I have just been pricing Lexan sheeting and looking at the temp tolerances and mechinability, with the idea of producing a one-off sunroof for my turbo.
At least now I know it's possible and how good it looks

You're going to have some funny feeling ears the first time you hit the highway with that roof out..

But I know what you mean. I have an aftermarket moonroof in my Trailblazer that will make your head explode if you open it all the way between 40 and 50mph. If you close it about 2" it's quiet as can be.
